The main purpose of this role is to assist in driving the strategic and day to day activities of the EMEA Business Controls Function.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversight & management of Internal control activities across all in scope EMEA markets. Including participating in or leading project teams to re engineer process to drive increased control and at the same time increased productivity.
- Assist the Senior Director, EMEA Business Controls in driving SOX 404 activities on an on-going basis.
-Participate in reporting to Corporate Business Controls Function / local executive committees for countries in scope.
-Maintain operational responsibility for assigned controls improvement projects
-Provide policy and procedure guidance, contribute significantly to the development of new policies and localization of corporate policies
-Conduct on-site visits to EMEA markets to assess accounting and internal controls / SOX compliance – draft reports and recommendations for Internal Control deficiencies resolution or improvements.
-Facilitate sharing of best practices related to key controls for assigned processes.
-Maintain full understanding of the accounting policies and procedures at a Corporate, regional and market. Provide suggestions for improvements as necessary
-Ensure that key internal controls are properly documented and kept up-to-date. This includes the update to existing process flows and associated narratives as required. Coordinate with Internal Control Managers in markets and in scope Tech Ops locations.
Suitable candidates will need to demonstrate the following criteria:
-Understanding of US GAAP and the Sarbanes-Oxley Act .
-BS degree in Finance or Accounting (US), formation supérieure de type grande école de commerce (France), or local equivalent.
a.CPA or CIA required of US candidate, a plus for European candidate.
b.Candidate should have around 5 years related experience in Public (preferably with Big 4 firm) or Private sector.
c.Significant experience in internal controls. Pharmaceutical and or manufacturing experience a plus. SAP experience a plus.
- Communication is key. Solid oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to be both clear and concise, is crucial for the successful candidate. Ability to interact with Senior Management. Strong presentation skills.
