Our client is an international Corporation with annual revenue in excess of $ 1 Billion.
The Client will accept Visa candidates. The position will be located in metro New York City USA and reports to the Corporate CFO.
There are 11 physical facilities in 7 countries. Our client sells into 14 countries and does business in at least 5 different currencies. The total employees exceed 1200. The direct reports for this role is 7.
The employee pyramid for this role is about 150.
The candidate we are searching must have substantial experience with companies with operations in multiple countries, multiple languages, multiple currencies, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Top line responsibilities include overall management of the European finance function;
• The provision of timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP and Company corporate policies, including establishment and maintenance of control environment in accordance with SOX and Company policies.
• Secondary responsibility for compliance with statutory and tax reporting in European jurisdictions.
• Other key responsibilities include the implementation of strategic initiatives in line with global corporate objectives, support of business opportunities in Europe, anticipating developments and working with the Company corporate risk management office to minimize business risk.
• Consolidation of European forecasts, budgets and results for monthly reporting to the US.
• Interpreting and reporting the results of collated information for Company corporate and providing ad hoc reports as required.
• Maintaining an understanding of US GAAP and Company accounting policies to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
• Ensuring compliance with local statutory reporting needs, tax and other legal requirements.
• Liaising with third party advisors as appropriate and ensuring external audit requirements are met.
• Optimizing the cash position throughout Europe through effective management of Treasury functions via local Finance Controllers.
• Providing support to European General Managers and liaising with local Finance Controllers regarding reporting matters, financial performance and analysis.
• Overseeing and directing any inter-company issues as appropriate.
• Working towards and maintaining a consistent pan-European approach to operational protocols in line with Company guidelines and practice as reviewed from time to time.
• Ensuring continual review and maintenance of European Insurance provisions as directed by Company corporate risk management.
• Responsible for ensuring the resolution of all issues across Europe to maintain Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
• Ensuring the constant review of internal systems to improve efficiencies and to minimize commercial risk across each of the business units.
Qualifications:
• BS - Accounting or related
• Minimum of 3 years experience as an auditor with a Big4/8 accounting firm working with multinational clients.
• Minimum of 7 years experience as a financial controller with full BS and PL responsibility of a €500 million revenue business that is part of a US public reporting company.
• Direct experience with businesses operating in a minimum of 5 countries.
• Experience with standard Microsoft Office applications.
• Certified Public Accountant certification required.
• 5+ years experience in a Big 4/8 firm. •
• 10+ years experience as controller of US public company/division.
• Experience with direct marketing and distribution.
• 10+ years overall experience required for this position as broken down above.
