Senior Internal Auditor - 75% travel
An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Big 4 trained, chartered accountant seeking their first move from practice to assume a high profile role with in the Group function of a FTSE 250 retail business. Reporting into the Group Head of Financial Reporting, this role will suit someone seeking a hybrid role with operational exposure in a global organisation. For a high performing individual, numerous different progression routes exist – either within group reporting, group planning or into a business unit.
This is a newly created role and the successful candidate will be tasked with giving the group finance team better oversight and assurance over the integrity of its reporting entities’ individual balance sheets. The key purpose of the role will be to perform a programme of balance sheet reviews of individual reporting entities, including detailed substantive testing of underlying reconciliations that will be targeted at perceived risk areas across the group. The successful Internal Auditor will travel to the various countries in which the business operates across Europe, America, APAC and the Middle East to challenge the in-country finance teams and perform spot checks on balance sheets, month end reconciliations and specific accounts.
Candidates will, ideally, be ACA qualified having trained with a Big 4 practice and will describe themselves as a “problem seeker” as well as a solver. This individual will have the ability to ask the right questions and will not accept the first answer. They will be inquisitive, tactful and ambitious. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to learn the inner workings of a FTSE 250 business before progressing internally.
