Working within dedicated teams, assignments will be project-based and varied, covering operations across all areas of the business throughout Europe. The role involves reviewing the control environment, identifying and quantifying business risk and generating positive recommendations for change that strengthen the controls in place, reduce risk and add value to the organisation being audited.
Specific responsibilities include:
*Perform reviews of critical financial reporting and operational processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (Prudential Regulation Authority- "PRA" and Financial Conduct Authority - FCA), Corporate internal control standards and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
*Conduct business interviews to document key business process control points.
*Use analytical techniques to identify and quantify risks to the Company.
*Critically assess the effectiveness of the control environment put in place by operational management and identify areas of non-compliance with Corporate and regulatory requirements.
*Review control weaknesses with operational management to ensure acceptance and understanding. Advise potential corrective actions to be taken by operating management.
They are looking for:
*Professional qualified auditor: we would normally expect the successful candidate to have at least 4 years' experience mostly auditing in the financial services industry.
*Professional accounting qualification (typically ACA, ACCA).
*Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) completed or underway (for those with Internal Audit experience).
*Personal characteristics that include: highly-motivated self-starter who can work independently without direct supervision; good and personable team player; ability to work effectively and deliver to tight deadlines whilst ensuring process discipline; strong business acumen and analytical skills (experience of Excel, Access and PeopleSoft would be of benefit); ability to communicate clearly, concisely and candidly in both verbal and written form.
