The British Museum is seeking a Head of Internal Audit to deliver a high quality internal audit service to the British Museum and the National Gallery.

In this role, you will provide Directors and Audit Committees with an objective evaluation of, and an opinion on, the effectiveness of arrangements for risk management, control and governance. This is a valuable opportunity to identify ways to improve and streamline structures, processes and controls.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent, the post-holder will be a qualified member of an internal audit or accountancy body (MIIA, CCAB) and will have strong knowledge of internal control and general management. As an experienced auditor, you will have a successful track record in audit planning, quality and performance management.

We are interested in hearing from candidates who are able to communicate confidently and clearly to a variety of individuals at all levels. You will be capable of understanding the wider contexts of the role and will exercise tact and diplomacy accordingly. The ability to manage a challenging workload in a fast paced environment is essential.

Contract: Permanent, Full time (we are happy to consider flexible working and job sharing arrangements).
