This local government organisation is looking to recruit an Internal Audit Manager to come and join the team. It is a highly visible and influential role, taking responsibility for ensuring that everything they do meets and exceeds client expectations.
The client has a reputation for quality and great service. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to work to these high standards and has great communication skills.
About the role:
The main responsibility of this role is to provide audit and related services to client satisfaction and to contribute to the management and development of the team.
Key tasks will include:
- To agree an annual audit plan for specific clients.
- To act as a contact for planning, liaison and advice with specific clients and, to contribute to the management of the team, providing effective and appropriate leadership and operational direction to staff.
- To carry out specific management tasks and assignments as allocated, for example budget management, recruitment.
You will also manage a small team and oversee the delivery of agreed audit work on budget.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant with Audit experience and experience of accounting practices and internal control concepts. Also key are the gravitas and interpersonal skills to build credible relationships at all levels.
