Baker Tilly International is the 8th largest accountancy network in the World.  The global office of Baker Tilly International is based in Blackfriars in London.  We are looking for a quality assurance and technical manager to join the Baker Tilly International team in London. The Quality Assurance and Technical team is made up of the Chief Quality Officer, the Global Head of Quality, the Audit Methodology Manager and a Quality Assurance and Technical Manager.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical skills in a commercial environment and gain international experience. The successful candidate will support the global audit quality assurance programme, including undertaking quality reviews of member firms and due diligence on new membership applications. You will also assist in developing training and be involved in a range of projects that support global audit quality and develop our procedures. You will have high levels of responsibility and work in a close-knit team while having access to a global network of 28,000 people in 141 countries.


The main responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Being a point of contact for any queries regarding quality assurance and technical matters
  • Managing the international quality assurance programme; evaluation of information returned by members; and carrying out reviews across a sample of member firms
  • Review of new membership applications; liaising with regional directors; performance of due diligence procedures; carrying out reviews as appropriate
  • Writing and publishing technical news stories on the extranet
  • Development of training for member firms
  • Research projects for the global network
  • Assisting with the management and review of the network’s global Independence Database including the resolution of independence issues
  • Development of global audit procedures


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Relevant, recognised accountancy qualification (ACA/ACCA)
  • Strong auditing skills and a good knowledge of ISAs
  • Ability to review audit work files and give advice
  • Extensive audit experience, ideally technically focussed
  • Willingness to travel internationally as and when required
  • Knowledge of ISAs and IFRS
  • Commercially aware
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation and training skills
  • Ability to work in a team
