We are delighted to support North Star Housing with their search for a Director of Assets, Property & Sustainability. This is a fantastic opportunity to join North Star as they embark on their next stage of growth and period of change as they continue to add value to people’s lives. This newly created position is an integral strategic hire, who will sit on the Senior Leadership team and be pivotal in supporting change and helping the organisation grow. This person will lead on the following: - Asset, maintenance, and green activities ensuring regulatory and legislative compliance. Work collaboratively across Property Services, Compliance and Assets in driving forward the delivery of high-quality services to their customers. Ensuring the evolution of services through insight and data and make intelligence-based decisions on investments needs in properties. Deliver value for money through robust budget management financial controls and procurement activities. The day-to-day responsibilities are to include: - Lead on all aspects of strategic asset management and ensure high-quality, cost-effective delivery. Ensure strategies are underpinned through reliable data and leading-edge knowledge of stock condition. Develop investment strategies, maximising best use of stock including carrying out detailed and convincing option appraisals that takes into account qualitative and quantitative data and knowledge. Oversee the delivery of a comprehensive, responsive and high performing repair services, ensuring it’s effective, efficient and reflective of the needs and expectations of the customers. Ensure the robust management of contractor relationships and all partnerships relevant to the function. Oversee the delivery of the stock investment annual maintenance and compliance services. Develop their green strategic approach to reducing their carbon footprint and retrofitting its stock to meet all government targets. Maximize grant availability and delivery opportunities through consortia, partnerships and in house teams. Manage all data relevant to the function through focused collection and high-quality analysis that leads to effective decision making. Implement and keep up to date an appropriate contract management framework that delivers value for money. Lead on regulatory and statutory compliance and health and safety matters ensuring North Star are compliant at all times. Delivering high quality training and ensuring policies are reviewed on a regular basis. Attend board meetings and provide information as required. Develop a culture of budget accountability and value for money through good challenge and tight budget controls. Work collaboratively with others in the organisation on a range of activities including risk, performance, complaints and budget management. Skills and Experience required: - Experience working in a complex and regulated environment relating to property / assets/ property investment. Experience working at a senior level in a housing association environment / property / related industry. Experience of formulating and implementing strategic plans and delivering results Financial acumen and budgetary control What’s in it for you: Salary £80,000 essential car allowance of £4,669 Pension 4% will match up to 7%.
