Job Details
We have been selected to deliver a transformation project for the Risk and Internal Audit teams of an award-winning and globally recognisable infrastructure business, on an exclusive basis. As part of this work, we are looking for an Internal Audit / Internal Controls Manager (Consultant) to join as a temporary resource (likely to be for c. 6-12 months initially). The office is based in c. London, and team members tend to do 1-3 days per week in the office (average 2 days). Travel, typically domestic will be about 20-30%. We can consider outstanding people based in other major UK towns & cities (Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Derby) too.
Reporting to the Head of Audit, who in turn reports to the Global Head of Audit and Risk, and interacts daily with the Group CFO, the primary part of this role is to help build, maintain and communicate the company Internal Controls Framework, including the policy, objectives and expectations. Via the roll out of the ICF, you support the core office locations, and departments, and strategic business units with the identification and reporting of strategic and material business risks and associated control environment.
Given the need for you to hit the ground running, we are looking for a person to act as a 'safe pair of hands', with experience in Internal Audit and Internal Controls, ideally. You will need to have the ability to work in teams as well as on individual projects, as a team player, willing to contribute to the development of the function, even beyond your tenure. You will also need to be a self-starter who can manage your own time and proactively seek and execute activities that will add value to the IA and Controls function.
This would be an ideal role for an Internal Audit (and Internal Controls eg. SOX) professional who is an experienced contractor or someone who is between jobs for any reason eg. redundancy, etc. who is looking for a new challenge in an established yet growing and expanding team within a market leading company. Big 4 training, a qualification eg. ACA/ACCA/CIA, etc. will be helpful, as would some relevant industry experience eg. construction, infrastructure, engineering, heavy manufacturing, etc.
