It is essential that all applicants can speak and read Mandarin fluently. Unfortunately, our client cannot provide sponsorship and therefore only applicants that have eligibility to work in the UK for 3+ years in the future will be considered.

Our client, a financial institution based in London is recruiting a Fluent Mandarin, Credit Risk Assistant Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

This position provides an exciting opportunity to work within a small team covering a broad area of duties.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess proposals submitted to Credit Management Department from front office departments and write credit reports in respect of the business proposals. This includes research and evaluation of counterparty management, industry and transaction risk, financial accounts, cash flows and forecasts.
  • Compose and update credit applications including waiver requests, limit renewals and proposals for new transactions.
  • Attend Credit Committee to present a summary of their credit reports to the Committee and answer any questions from the Committee members.
  • Regularly monitor the risk situations of borrowers in an allocated portfolio as well as industry risks where particular responsibility for an industry has been allocated.
  • Ensure compliance with departmental procedures manuals.
  • Manage the approval process from start to completion and work with front office to manage time frames and expectations.

Skills/Experience:

  • Degree educated preferably in Finance, Business or Economics.
  • Proven experience in managing large corporates portfolio.
  • Knowledge of Project Finance and Acquisition Finance would be an advantage.
  • Relevant professional qualification is considered useful (e.g. MBA, ACIB, CFA, FRM).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Banking products and risks associated with them.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of legal documentation.
  • Demonstrated financial and modelling skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Fluent in English and Chinese Mandarin both verbally and written.
