Harnham are partnering with a fully digital InsurTech which aims to make insurance more available, cheaper and fit-for-purpose. This company is looking for a head of data engineering to grow the current team and build the data platform.

THE COMPANY

They were founded in the last decade and help compare prices at a grand scale of insurance advertising the best products from their clients. This company aims to double from their current 100 heads as they are on track to go 3x this year.

THIS ROLE

As a Head of Data Engineering, you will be building the strategy to help grow the team and introduce new technologies to ensure the platform is built in the most efficient way.

Specifically, you can expect to be involved in the following:

• Operating with senior stakeholders to help devise the strategy
• You will need to be close to tech to support current engineers with the architecture and programming
• You will be the go-to person for how they manage their data
• You will be the person that chooses which technologies to invest in

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

The successful Head of Data Engineering will have the following skills and experience:

• Will be close to the code and therefore need to understand good Python code
• Will have led teams and managed individuals
• Experience using a range of cloud environments
• Introduced best engineering practices to ensure code is being tested

Desirably have:

• InsurTech experience is good but not essential
• Experience with managing cross vertical teams
• Experience in scaling data platforms from the ground up
