The role
This opportunity combines responsibilities as an Audit Partner, focusing on managing and growing a portfolio, with additional duties as Audit Compliance Principal (ACP) and Audit Ethics Principal (AEP), ensuring compliance and ethical leadership.
The purpose of the role is to provide strategic leadership in ensuring the highest standards of audit quality, compliance, and ethical integrity within the firm. The role is central to driving the firm's commitment to regulatory adherence, promoting a culture of exemplary ethical conduct and managing risks effectively, while delivering exceptional client service. The individual in this role will support in shaping the firm's strategic direction, ensuring it remains responsive to changing regulations and client needs and is continually horizon scanning and planning for future changes in these expectations.
The role holder will sit on the Azets Audit Services Board, and be the primary contact with our regulator, overseeing the regulatory correspondences through management of regulator investigations and visits. They will play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the firm's commitment to audit quality, compliance, and ethical integrity.
Key accountabilities
- Align our audit practices with UK regulations and oversee the quality management systems to ensure consistent and high-quality audit delivery.
- Uphold ethical standards, manage ethical concerns proactively, and cultivate a culture of integrity.
- Contribute to strategic decisions about audit compliance, staying ahead of regulatory changes and industry shifts.
- Lead client engagements effectively, providing advice that is both practical and insightful, ensuring that all audits are managed to the highest standards.
Skills & experience
- You should be ACA, ACCA, or equivalently qualified, with the status to act as a Responsible Individual (RI).
- A strong background in managing audits, addressing compliance risks, and liaising with regulators is crucial.
- Ability to lead and think ahead, understanding the broader impact of regulatory and industry changes.
- Excellent skills in building relationships, both with clients and within the firm, are essential.
