Enterprise Wide Risk Management (EWRM) deals with risks that manifest themselves at the aggregate level of the bank. So we take a strategic, bank-wide view of risk management.

We manage areas like capital and liquidity risk, which are entity driven (rather than pure credit, market or operational risk views), as we'll as risk appetite and policy framework which apply across the bank globally. We also own the end-to-end risk management framework, how it fits together, and work on its adoption and consistent application across the bank. This makes us a key area in delivering security to both customers and shareholders.

What you'll do

This is a critical role with responsibility to project manage and deliver our bank wide and UK legal entity ICAAP submissions to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA). Preparing each submission is a major endeavour taking approximately nine months of work, and your work will have a great deal of exposure at senior levels of the business.

you'll review and PRAs documentation on ICAAP submissions, becoming an acknowledged subject matter expert and liaising with contemporaries from other banks to discuss requirements and best practices. you'll work closely with a huge variety of stakeholders from across the bank and its UK subsidiaries, including stress testing teams, risk and capital assessment, Finance and Treasury to bring together the submissions you need to complete your. But you'll also have to be able to understand when those submissions seem wrong – as a result of weakenesses in the models used, for example – and challenge their integrity.

Working with the Head of ICAAP, you'll also successfully develop and implement an ICAAP policy at both bank and, where needed, at subsidiary level.

What you'll bring

you'll need practical experience as we'll as theory to carry out this role, so were looking for someone with prior experience of submitting ICAAPs at a major bank. You should understand the regulations, and have a good existing understanding of current and developing best practice. Wed also be interested if your background includes experience at a regulator.

This is numerate and highly analytical work, so you'll also need to be educated in a numerate discipline to at least undergraduate level, and should also hold a relevant professional qualification, such as CFA, chartered accountancy, or Institute of Risk Management.

you'll have to be highly persuasive to get the information you need at the right time, so you should be able to demonstrate how youve influenced a wide range of senior stakeholders to succeed in your priorities. you'll also need to be able to simplify complex and conflicting tasks and policy positions, effectively managing and communicating them.

This role falls under Conduct Rules of the Individual Accountability Regime (IAR) and is subject to pre-employment screening.
