IAC is currently working with a leading FTSE 250 business in hiring an Internal Auditor to help grow their Group Internal Audit function.

Reporting to the Regional Internal Auditor Manager, the Internal Auditor will be part of a global audit team but will have a specific focus on the business operations across Europe. The Internal Auditor position is being hired due to further growth of the Internal Audit team. The department is currently being re-organised and adapting a new approach following the appointment of a new Head of Internal Audit & Risk.

You’ll be working as part of a team performing audits across the Group’s different divisions in Europe. This will involve up to 75% travel across Europe. You can expect to be travelling for up two weeks at a time. You’ll be able to return to the UK at weekends if needed and can spend some time working from home when not on audit.

Historically, the department has been very focussed on compliance reviews, however this is changing and the team now deliver controls based operational and financial reviews. You’ll be delivering full country reviews, ensuring the country operations are in line with Group processes and standards. Typical audits include; balance sheet reviews, HR processes, sales and marketing, health & safety, as well as providing assurance over key financial controls.

To be considered for this role, you’ll have a background in either internal or external audit and will hold a recognised accounting or internal audit related qualification (ACA/ACCA/IIA or equivalent). You’ll be a confident communicator and have a pragmatic approach to your work, as well as being open to travelling. Fluency in another language is also desirable (Polish, Romanian, Czech or Hungarian is preferred).
