This major global financial services group has a boutique portfolio of investment management firms with a total of $1.7 Trillion of assets under management. The business has grown through a number of significant acquisitions but still retains a strong culture of employee recognition and a culture of philanthropy that takes sustainability and social responsibility seriously.

The group is large enough to provide all the opportunities and career potential of working for a large multinational and diverse business while still being small enough for you to enjoy far greater responsibility, breadth of experience and visibility than you would typically get in a large investment or retail bank. There is strong sense of teamwork and a commitment to work-life balance and senior leadership believe passionately that they “live or die” by the team. Hence there is a culture of no ego, little if any politics and a down to earth, honest and co-operative environment.

Within the EMEA team is a specialist and dedicated Asset Management audit team which focusses on the UK based AM businesses. Each of the Asset Management businesses are run autonomously and focus on slightly different markets/strategies. The audit team focusses primarily on the operational processes of these businesses rather than back office or shared service processes so being in audit affords a great opportunity to learn about the AM business. In fact  a number of ex members of the internal audit team have progressed their careers into new challenges within the AM businesses themselves. Typically audits tend to be very comprehensive and involve teams of 2-3 auditors for up to 2-3 months. As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will typical take responsibility for both leading and execution of audits as the team is quite flat/non-hierarchical with the Lead responsibility being rotated around the team from project to project.

As the ideal candidate you will have the right character and attitude to fit with the team and be career orientated – ie looking to build a longer term career rather than just looking for an experience move. In addition you will:

  • Be of graduate calibre and hold an appropriate accounting/audit qualification
  • Have a background of a minimum of 4-5 years in external or internal audit with exposure to the asset management/financial services sector
  • Have strong communication skills – both verbal and in writing
  • Be confident with the ability to build relationships and engage positively with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Have the skills to persuade/influence sometimes challenging senior stakeholders with both tact and firmness
  • Be a proven team player with a positive and co-operative style

You must be eligible to work in the UK without the need for sponsorship to be considered for this opportunity. On offer is a salary of up to c£55,000-£70,000 (depending on experience) plus bonus, pension, study support and the flexibility to work from home for two days per week.
