Audit Senior

Reputable firm of Chartered Accountants based in Loughton in search for and Audit Senior to join the firm.


My client is a firm of Chartered Accountants, Tax and Business Advisers based in East London. The firm have been established for over eighty years and work with clients based across London and the Home Counties. They have a broad mix of clients including SME businesses, groups of companies, partnerships, limited companies, charities and High Net Worth individuals.

Due to significant growth, the firm are looking to appoint an Audit Senior to assist with conducting audit assignments and preparing statutory accounts. As the Audit Senior you will take a proactive role with your clients; liaising, contacting and meeting with clients prior to and during the assignment and developing the client relationship.

Reporting directly to the partner or manager you will be responsible for:

• Planning the Assignment, including the preparation/updating of the permanent file and briefing the team.
• Preparing the audit assignment papers and budgets.
• Documenting audit tests and findings
• Managing the team whilst out on site to ensure team produces high quality work, are motivated to achieve high standards and that end of job appraisals are carried out for the team.
• Ensuring that jobs are completed on time and within budget
• Detailed costing of time budget
• Presenting the Audit Manager with a complete assignment file with minimal review points.
• Preparation of Corporation Tax or Income Tax computations
• To liaise with Tax Department and deal with any queries raised.
• Accounts package drafted (letters/minutes/certificates etc)
• To be aware of developments concerning client affairs and to identify opportunities to provide additional services to increase fee income for the Firm.

Candidates must possess good technical skills including strong audit experience. Ideally candidates will have experience of working in a role that is more than 75% focused on audit covering a wide mix of clients. Due to the nature of the role applicants must also own their own car as you will be required to travel to clients premises to carry out work. Previous experience of working within a Mid-Tier Practice (minimum of 5 Partners) is essential to be considered for this role.
