Valuations Director –   Property - London

Due to continuing success, ambitious growth plans and current opportunities within our clients Business Valuation Services and Real Estate Sector team  they are looking to recruit a Chartered Valuation Surveyor to join their market leading Valuation Services and Real Estate team.

They are looking for a Director to help support the teams in delivering a full range of property valuation services to complex clients and being responsible and contributing to the future management, growth and direction of the business. Our clients  valuations team specialises in independent business valuations which may be required for a variety of purposes. It is one of the largest in the UK, and includes experts who are published authors in the field. The client base comprises FTSE 100 companies, governments, lawyers and regulators as well as individuals and entrepreneurial businesses. They are a trusted adviser to leading real estate organisations, providing assurance, tax and advisory services to support them in delivering shareholder value and commercial success. Clients value their technical expertise, real estate industry focus and network of contacts which helps them to confidently navigate the daily challenges facing their business.

They have one of the largest and experienced real estate teams in the UK, with over 200 people advising on UK and international assurance, tax and transactional matters. They work with a range of real estate businesses including large UK and global private and listed businesses as well as privately owned, start-up and entrepreneurial organisations.  Their in depth knowledge of the real estate sector ensures that they are able to support the growth and future needs of their clients covering regulatory, corporate governance and structuring.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for dealing with all property valuation matters relating to the business valuation services and property valuations required for tax purposes. Recent changes to UK taxation will result in many of their clients requiring property valuations and rebasing in respect of their property portfolios.

Role

• act as a major point of contact for clients, responding quickly to, as well as anticipating, client requests/needs, keeping clients informed of progress in relation to all aspects of the service provided, and maintaining regular contact with clients
• develop and manage a large portfolio of clients, taking control for project delivery of property valuation services, as well as billing and cash collection
• have regular involvement in advising on valuations and transactions in conjunction with Partners/Directors
• be responsible for the delivery of final valuation services to clients
• correspond and agree valuations with HM Revenue and Customs and the Valuation Office
• identify risk and technical matters and ensure risk and quality procedure are adhered to
• recognise business and sales opportunities and progress these forward with Partner support
• actively participate in the management of the group through Partner/Manager meetings and by attendance at social functions
• be responsible for recruitment, coaching and developing junior members of staff
• participate in bids/proposals for new work
• develop your own network of contacts internally and externally
• develop contact with clients at senior level and maintain contact with other levels as appropriate to ensure the firm has the confidence of the client
• act as a liaison between the client and other specialist service groups within the firm, both in the UK and internationally
• contribute centrally by presenting on internal courses.

Requirements
• A Chartered Valuation Surveyor MRICS (or equivalent) with demonstrable post-qualified experience
• Significant experience in carrying out commercial property valuations in accordance with the RICS Valuation Global Standard 2017 the “Red Book”
• Ability to manage a substantial client portfolio profitably
• Experienced in business development activities with new and/or existing clients
• Experience of dealing with client senior management
• Self-motivated with excellent communication
• Experience of managing and developing junior staff
