Senior Internal Auditor - Retail

As a Senior Internal Auditor within this retail business, you'll work across an interesting mix of programme assurance activities in line with a multimillion pound, business critical project; profit leakeage audit activities, 3rd party supplier assurane and audit of sourcing operations both in the UK and Internationally.

You will work in a highly focussed team but also work across the organisation and interface at all levels with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Whilst mainly supporting the Retail part of the business, as the business is closely integrated the role will also cross into the Financial Services and IT elements of the business.

The role will involve contributing to ways of working, the annual audit plan and ensuring delivery of audits that add value to the business in line with internal audit methodology.

You'll develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to actively engage with senior staff to gain a good understanding of the business and manage delivery of Retail Audits to the agreed standards. You'll monitor and manage implementation of actions agreed for Retail Audits.

To be successful in the role, you'll be a qualified or part qualified accountant or auditor, and ideally have some exposure to internal audit.

You will have strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You'll be able to build a network and you possess a high level of integrity and are able to challenge upwards and cross-functionally whilst you welcome being challenged.

You will be more than comfortable communicating in verbal and also written form, often in advanced report writing and also presentations to senior leadership. You'll be able to both talk technically in a detailed fashion with relevant stakeholders whilst being able to simplify the communications to non-technical stakeholders.

Working within a high profile function within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, you will be resilient, highly flexible and self-motivated. You'll be commercial in your outlook and able to see the impact from a variety of standpoints, offering pragmatic commentary and solutions. Additionally, in a digitally data / technology driven business you will also need to be comfortable in using data / analysis to test operational effectiveness of controls.
