Head of Finance job in Edinburgh with a professional services firm offering £40,000 - £50,000 per annum

Hays Senior Finance are proud to be retained and working in partnership with a growing consultancy firm in Edinburgh as they recruit a Head of Finance. Our client are incredibly value driven committed to a long-term growth strategy with there operations spread across the UK. At 1 million turnover, our client has a varied client base across commercial and public sector enterprises and the Head of finance will be a key facilitator in supporting performance improvement across the group. In the last 5 years our client has significantly diversified there range of work, and as a result has created a much more robust foundation for growth. Following the retirement of the current incumbent in spring, this exclusive opportunity is now available for an experienced accountant to join a successful business, supporting the senior management team to ensure the smooth running and collaboration across the business.

Your new role
The head of finance will be part of the senior management team and working alongside the MD and associate directors. Working autonomously, this role will play a key role in implementing the business strategy and will provide sound strategic advise, analysis and insight as a commercial accountant. The head of finance will manage the running of finance and support services for the sites across the UK from management accounting, business reporting and analysis, producing financial reports and detailed analysis to support business growth and managing relationships with outsourced suppliers including HR and IT. You will have the ability to partner with a range of stakeholders, advising the Managing Director of financial performance and providing recommendations.

Deliverables will include detailed production of management accounts with SAGE software. You will chair weekly meetings, support the development of a bookkeeper to produce monthly financial reports and make recommendations about appropriate action to respond to any issues or to enhance financial performance.

What you'll need to succeed
The head of finance will have excellent business experience with a wider view on the story behind the numbers and will ensure the smooth running of the financial and administrative function. The role is ideal for someone with 5 or more years' experience in a Finance manager role in a small professional company or third sector organisation.

You will have the ability to see the big picture and to contribute to Strategic Board considerations on driving growth and managing company performance.
