Job Details

The Audit & Risk Recruitment Company (ARRC) has been asked to recruit for a Senior Internal Auditor to join a market leading organisation based in Canary Wharf.

The Risk Assurance department requires a Senior Internal Auditor to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls over the business risks of the company and provide assurance to the Audit Committee and the Board.

Reporting to the Head of Risk Assurance, the successful applicant will be responsible for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of systems and controls through a programme of internal audit work. With minimal supervision, the role is required to undertake all aspects of the audit process from planning of reviews through to completion of audit work including effective reporting of results.

The role requires a self starter with proven experience of a risk based approach and the end to end audit process reviews with some knowledge of insurance, information technology, data security, project risks and the regulatory environment. Good communication and facilitation skills are required to assist with problem solving, and an ability to influence senior management of the need to address the issues arising from reviews. 

The role will be required to lead on shaping the audit methodology including the use of the companies risk management systems for audit work, and the ongoing approach to ensure the internal audit plan is delivering value to the organisation.
   
Desired skills include:

  • Proficiency with process mapping, testing approaches and audit analysis techniques including use of Excel to enable interrogation and analysis of data.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines, run concurrent audit and set quality standards for own work.
  • Effective report writing skills including facilitation and presentation skills including running risk workshops and root cause analysis sessions.
  • Ability to prioritise issues according to significance and make insightful practical recommendations which address the crux of the issue.
  • An excellent understanding of risk management principles and application to the nature and size of the organisation.

The successful candidate will hold a professional qualification e.g. CIIA, ACA or ACCA.
