Job Details
My client is looking to recruit an experienced internal auditor to join the bank in a Head of Audit position. In this role you will undertake SMF5 responsibilities and provide senior management with independent assurance on the adequacy of the business’ control activities. You will be expected to establish and implement an audit plan ensuring that adequate controls are in place to mitigate risks and liaise with external auditors and regulators. This is a highly visible role within the organisation and you will be expected to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
The suitable candidate for this role will be an internal auditor with at least eight years’ experience. Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant or internal auditor with a background in banking / financial services. You should have a good understanding of banking products, operations and UK banking regulations relating to corporate and private banking, mortgage loans and trade finance. Good communication skills and demonstrable experience of managing and developing relationships with stakeholders will be essential.
