A FTSE 100 luxury retail business, headquartered in London is looking for a Senior Internal Audit Manager.

As part of the global risk and audit team, the primary part of this role is to identify risks within the business and evaluate the adequacy of controls in place in order to minimise and mitigate those risks.

This role involves managing financial and operational audits alongside the rest of the audit leadership team, both in London and as part of the global team. You will oversee the design and delivery of the audits and lead the team to fulfill the team’s objective of completing the annual audit plan, which consists of financial, operational and controls-based audits, as well as ad hoc projects such as investigations. You will also be involved in resourcing and people development.

Communication and management skills are key to the success of this position, as is maintaining and develop relationships with key stakeholders at Director level and up to board level to help ensure the audit work carried out adequately addresses the key risks in the Group.

We are looking for an experienced auditor with at least 10 years’ experience, who demonstrates leadership and relationship building qualities in all that they do. Someone who anticipates problems and pro-actively seeks solutions. This is a hands-on role, with a substantial level of travel, circa 50%, so flexibility is a must.

You will likely be a Top 10 /Big 4 trained audit or finance professional, ideally with a relevant qualification and at least 10 years’ experience. Previous management experience is essential either in practice, in industry or a mix of the two. Experience in the (luxury) retail, manufacturing or FMCG, or comparably dynamic industries, is a benefit.

Since is a senior appointment, the successful applicant will receive encouragement to take on more responsibility once established in the role and within the team and will be encouraged to develop internally into a bigger role once you have established your network and learnt the business.
