One of our key clients in London; who is a leading independent provider of investment management, corporate, and financial advisory services to private clients, corporates, professional services, and non-profit organisations, are currently looking to grow their Transaction Services division by bringing in people at the Senior Consultant level.

They provide a range of services focusing on all aspects from Due Diligence to Valuations and Financial Modelling to Transaction Support. Their scope includes IPO’s, Capital Markets and the assistance in IFRS Transitions.

In this role you will assist in investigating target companies, looking at their financial systems, their financial history and financial projections to provide the firms’ clients with in-depth analysis of the target’s financial dynamics they need before making their investment or purchase decision.

Client Contact

  • Regular discussions with the client to confirm progress, identify solutions to any hurdles and ensure reasonable expectations are met
  • Establish relationships with key contacts at the client and the target

Technical

  • Perform data analysis, producing charts and graphs which enable readers of our reports to understand key messages
  • Work on due diligence assignments 
  • Prepare and interpret financial models
  • Assist with working capital assessments, IFRS transitions, systems documentation and recommendations and other work associated with the reporting accountant role in an AIM listing
  • Understand and appreciate key commercial aspects of the client’s business, its business model, scalability and business risks

Organisational

  • Provide regular progress reports to the manager
  • Identify and discuss with manager issues/problems and agree and complete appropriate actions
  • Ensure deadlines are met
  • Be able to work on several different assignments at one time

Staff development

  • Attendance on relevant technical and development courses
  • Technical reading
  • Attendance at client meetings

Business development 

  • Engage with business development initiatives, representing the team at events promoting our services

What we're looking for

  • ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent
  • Demonstrable audit and accounts experience gained within a professional services firm.
  • Keen interest in the transactions sector
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written, both internally and directly with clients
  • Demonstrable experience of supervising others and delegation of work
  • Demonstrable ability to organise self and others, such that you can work on several different assignments at one time

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to move into the Transactions Services / Corporate Finance space from an Audit background! As our client are open to training people within this team, it means they can facilitate moving newly qualified ACA candidates into the team. This will allow you to join a small but growing team with a more-commercial focus in terms of the work you’ll be doing.
