About the team

PwC is one of the world’s leading professional services firms and our Financial Services (FS) client base covers leading organisations spanning Retail and Commercial Banking, Insurance and Investment Management, and Capital Markets.

The Finance Consulting within FS team advises leading FS providers on a wide variety of Finance Transformation programmes including performance management, shared services, outsourcing, process redesign and systems transformation. In particular, our clients are looking for ways to meet the current regulatory and reporting challenges, identify cost-cutting measures and manage the mergers and acquisition processes. Our team includes both broad FS practitioners and specialists in Insurance, Banking or Asset management and candidates from all these areas are required.

SAP is PwC Consulting’s key investment for the future, and as a result of client demand and our growing SAP ambitions, we are rapidly expanding our SAP capability. In support of our growth, we are currently recruiting Senior Managers with Finance Transformation experience within Financial Services.Senior Managers with Finance Transformation experience within Financial Services.

This role will be mainly client-based, developing teams and leading/ supporting transformational work and change engagements as well as some business development responsibilities leveraging SAP technologies.SAP technologies.

Our delivery work can include

  • Finance vision, strategy and operating models
  • Finance function process improvement
  • Supporting cost reduction exercises, with robust benefit realisation plan
  • Enterprise resource planning including finance, sales, procurement, human capital
  • Enterprise performance management including consolidation, reporting, planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Finance IT strategy - including embedding applicable SAP technologies

Joining our team as a Senior Manager, we would expect you to have considerable experience of leading large change projects enabling SAP, preferably within a major blue chip or consulting environment.

You will have been supporting decision making at a senior level (CFO level) and be able to demonstrate a track record of various SAP solutions implementation success, achieving savings and overcoming various challenges. Significant FS sector experience is essential.


Requirements

We require experienced Senior Managers who have the following technical skills and experience -

  • Preference will be given to candidates with well demonstrated external consulting experience
  • Financial services experience specifically Insurance, Banking and Capital Markets
  • A delivery track record of leading complex Finance transformation projects enabling SAP technology, delivering multiple workstreams simultaneously and/or managing a complex stakeholder environment, specifically covering our core delivery areas as listed above
  • A consulting/professional services track record
  • An understanding of SAP Finance systems such as EPM and ERP
  • Experience of leading and developing teams
  • Degree level with additional qualifications such as ACA/ACCA/CIMA/MBA;
  • Demonstrated ability to advise senior management on alternative solutions and risks with experience of presenting and influencing at a senior level
  • Experience of the impact of regulations on finance in FS. Candidates would ideally have exposure to one or more of IFRS 17, IFRS 9, IFRS16, Solvency II, Basel III, SOx, GDPR
  • Data architecture, data management, chart of accounts design
  • Systems architecture for SAP finance systems
  • Exposure to Robotics process automation and other disruptive technologies
  • A formal accounting qualification or equivalent understanding of accounting principles.
  • Previous experience in a management or a senior role gained from within a finance department
