Your opportunity

Our office in the Isle of Man which was established in 1983, offers the full spectrum of Deloitte services specialising in audit and tax.  The local team of approximately 30 people led by David Heaton, Partner in Charge.  The office works in conjunction with our North West Financial Services combining the Manchester and Leeds offices.

Your role

As a Senior Manager you will have the opportunity to develop and achieve your career aspirations.  Initial responsibilities would include the following:

  • Senior Manager / Director for a high profile, technically challenging portfolio of clients, predominantly financial services related;
  • A leadership role working closely with the senior management team building on the financial success of the office;
  • Recruitment of graduates and experienced hires;
  • Financial planning and budgeting; and
  • Assistance with business development and marketing activities.

This role would be suited to an ambitious individual who is already operating at the Senior Manager / Director level, preferably in an audit environment, with some orientation to financial services, although not essential.

It is anticipated that this individual would have the opportunity in the short term to work towards a Signing Director role obtaining ‘Responsible Individual’ status with the ICAEW, and taking on lead client service responsibilities for a portfolio of clients in the Isle of Man including investment funds, captive insurance companies, banks and general insurance companies.

Location: Isle of Man with frequent domestic travel for client-based projects

Your professional experience

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • ACA qualified, or equivalent qualification or experience. 
  • You will have experience of auditing the financial services sector and have knowledge of current accounting standards, with IFRS exposure.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills,
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships. 
  • In this position with management responsibility, you will be able to delegate tasks and help develop less experienced colleagues. 
  • You must have a positive and ambitious attitude, and a keen desire to develop both personally and professionally.
