Job Purpose
The Head of Software Development is responsible for all of the technical innovation that you will develop, articulate, and continually evolve the strategic technical direction using multi-channel technical solutions. You will provide vision and leadership to ensure the successful performance of the IT Team
Competency Requirements
- Accountable for the overall delivery, development and performance of the IT Team.
- You will be required to handle the delivery of multiple software solutions through your development team
- You will manage and grow the development team creating a structure for continued growth within the organisation
- Scope technical solutions that will deliver against the business objectives
- Implement mechanisms to monitor, manage and provide progress on all software development activities
- Accountable for the on time and delivery of software development projects
- Create, implement and maintain a continuous improvement plan for software development and IT infrastructure
- Identifying and implementing technology trends that will be able to support the future success of the business
- Ensure that technology standards and best practices are maintained across the organisation
- Establish a clear structure and succession plans aligned with appropriate responsibilities, accountabilities and personal development for all IT staff
- Undertake additional tasks and responsibilities as may be reasonably expected
- Comply with all relevant policies and procedures
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Financial Experience
- Proficient on PHP, Javascript, MySQL, AJAX, jQuery, CSS and HTML
- Management of IT Teams
- Strong people leadership and staff development skills
- Technical knowledge very important
- Experience with a wide range of tech important
- Tech agnostic when thinking of solutions
- Line management skills
- Demonstrate attention to detail
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
