The team are known within PwC as Fulcrum. They’re a close-knit community of staff, of all grade levels, working on prestigious London audit engagements within Banking and Capital Markets, Insurance, Asset and Wealth Management and London Top Tier.

Fulcrum staff are integral members of the client-facing teams, physically located in our Birmingham office.     You'll gain exposure to working on a wide variety of clients and a wide range of work. In addition you'll also be involved with training, managing, coaching and appraising staff. As this team is developing a new way of working, you'll be in a position to shape the working practices of the future so will need to be able to think independently and confidently about sharing your point of view and be innovative in the way you communicate.

    About the Role

    As an Audit Senior Manager you'll have overall responsibility to deliver service to clients including

  • Managing a client portfolio and reporting to the Partner / Director Group

  • Managing and supervising staff to junior staff and its delivery to the client

  • Managing the day to day client relationships

  • Staff management and coaching responsibilities

  • Development of new business relationships and revenue generation

  • Auditing the assurance process using state of the art analytical tools and practice methodologies.

  • Developing industry and technical expertise in assurance and business advisory areas through written reports and management presentations, managing multiple relationships ensuring customer satisfaction through high quality service deliverables.

  • We are able to offer some flexibility in the role around those of the other senior managers on the team and can ensure that the role is suitable to your particular strengths.


  • Essential skills and experience

    As a Senior Manager you will be required to

  • Be ACA, ACCA, or similarly qualified, demonstrating solid post qualification experience

  • Have existing experience operating at Senior Manager level within a similar environment

  • Have proven ability to lead audit engagements from planning to completion on a diverse range of assignments.

  • Demonstrate an ability to innovate and add value to clients and projects.

  • Have a proven track record of compliance with quality standards and an ability to balance an efficient and compliant audit.

  • Have a proven ability to manage and monitor engagement budgets and financial performance.

  • Demonstrate an ability to spot opportunities to add value to clients and work with colleagues in other lines of service to help clients find solutions to the challenges they face.

  • Have experience of fee negotiations and negotiating scope changes with clients.

  • Experience of IFRS, UK GAAP (including FRS 101/102) and international standards on auditing would be required (experience of other accounting frameworks is an advantage)
