Senior Financial Compliance Auditor

Our client, a global organisation with a strong brand presence and customer base, seeks a high calibre Senior Financial Compliance Auditor for its European internal audit team. Reporting to the Head of Internal Audit, the Senior Financial Compliance Auditor will be responsible for the management and delivery of financial statement and compliance reviews, process and control reviews as well as managing ad-hoc projects and investigations.
Working with management and managing a more junior member of the team, you will provide consultancy advice on process controls and documentation, report findings of reviews to management and proactively manage remediation actions.

This is a high-profile role requiring a self-starter with excellent planning and time management skills, who has the ability to work to tight time schedules, work under pressure and who has a high attention to detail. Quality, accuracy, working independently and as part of a team are key skills. The role involves regular travel within the UK and Europe (30%), however this is well planned and normally only during the working week. Good opportunities exist to develop your career further, either within the department or wider business.

Skills / Experience / Attributes

• Qualified accountant - ACA, CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
• Strong financial audit experience, ideally gained within a top-tier accountancy firm
• Good technical accounting experience including reporting under IFRS
• Sarbanes-Oxley compliance experience is a plus
• Ability to explain issues in a clear, concise manner to management
• Strong administration skills
• Strong relationship management and mentoring skills
• MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and Access skills to an intermediate level
• A second European language - Spanish, Italian, French or German is an advantage
