Job Details

A continuously changing and evolving risk landscape means the NHS in Wales faces new and unfamiliar challenges. While the NHS is often ready to respond to these challenges, the support provided by internal audit helps give chief executives, and boards the assurance that their risk management, control processes and governance arrangements are ready to meet these demands.

Audit and Assurance services is a division of NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership (NWSSP). We deliver professional internal audit, assurance and consulting service to the NHS in Wales.

We have around 60 skilled staff delivering over 400 reviews annually, across all 11 organisations that form NHS Wales, supporting organisational governance and improvement. Therefore, there is a real opportunity to make a difference by getting involved in audits across a diverse range of areas in a flexible working environment.

Due to an increase in the demand for audit and assurance services, we are looking to grow the team to develop a structure that can support the delivery of our internal audit plans.

You must be an auditor that will thrive in this challenging, varied and complex environment; a self-motivated individual who can buy into our vision of delivering excellence and value for money. While we have an increasing focus on data and IT, we also consider culture and behaviours, so the work will be varied and interesting.

To do this we will support your career through technical training, coaching and development, and provide access to a varied portfolio of work.

In addition, we offer the benefits of flexible working, and the opportunity to join the NHS pension scheme.

We believe this is a great opportunity for the right candidate, and the recent external quality assessment of our service by the Institute of Internal Auditors demonstrates that we are delivering a quality service to all of our clients.

A career with us will provide you with an opportunity to gain an understanding of the objectives, regulatory and risk management environment, and the diverse needs of the wide range of organisations operating within the NHS in Wales.

We have vacancies across South and West Wales.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Closing date: 12th September 2019
