To capitalise on the significant opportunities that technological advances offer us however, we need to create a foundation upon which the opportunity to digitise can be quickly identified and implemented. Fundamental in achieving this is having a delivery model which drives significant levels of standardisation in what we do, achieved through increasing levels of centralisation in delivery - for example, through the implementation of Centres of Excellence and Competency Centres in the UK, which are collectively referred to as ‘Alternative Delivery Models’ (ADMs).
The UK priority is also a global priority, with a significant number of territories globally pursuing a centralisation of delivery strategy to enable accelerated digitisation in what we do.
We are seeking a high performing Director for a minimum 12 month secondment, to drive the global assurance project to standardise how we execute our audits within ADMs, to enhance quality and move more effectively toward greater digitisation of what we do.
Applicants will have responsibility for:
Defining global standards / guidelines for implementing ADMs, leveraging best practice in the USA, UK and Germany
Developing a playbook for territories setting up ADMs, including the global standards / guidelines
Developing ISA compliant work programs for ADMs (EGAs down to activity level), which will in turn enable automation in an effective way
Developing roadmaps by FSLI to enable automation, leveraging what is available globally
Managing regional roll out support through regional resources
The chosen individual will have the opportunity to:
Lead a significant global strategic priority
Define global strategy, shaping our vision for the global external audit target operating model
Work flexibly from their base location anywhere in the UK
Gain access to a global network of senior global and territory leadership
Gain experience across a range of different technical and operational areas
You will report directly to lead Partner, Michael Abresch, in Switzerland, with key activities including:
Driving / project managing the global project
Planning and driving the project, coordinating progress, the central touchpoint for the workstreams and territories, proactively managing and engaging with stakeholders, status reporting, escalating issues, maintaining an understanding of territory developments
Managing (and supporting recruitment of) a global team of up to 12 to 15 people across several workstreams
Preparing plan and budget for FY21
Preparing reporting for the Global Assurance meetings GALT Exec and GALT Exec Functional Leaders
Monitoring and reporting against budget
Successful candidates will have / be:
ACA qualified (or equivalent)
Dynamic and agile, able to respond seamlessly to shifting priorities
Strong written and oral communication skills, including when working in a more virtual working environment and at senior levels
The ability to influence at all levels
The ability to think creatively and innovate with new solutions
Excellent organisational / project management skills
Pro-active and self-motivated
Strong attention to detail
This role offers the potential for flexible working, however regular international travel is required (relocation is not necessary).
