Your new firm
A Top 10 international firm of Chartered Accountants are looking to appoint an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant to join their Accounting and Business Advisory team. This opportunity has arisen due to continued growth in the team, which has been affected with the changes in Making Tax Digital (MTD). The firm are looking to appoint an Accounts Supervisor to join the team and support with the delivery of services to a portfolio of clients and you can be based in their Chester office.

Your new job
As an Accounts Supervisor you will join the accounting and business services team in their Chester that deliver a range of statutory accounting, VAT and management accounts services to non-audited clients. In this role you will have responsibility for a group of trainees and semi seniors and work with the manager to deliver the work. Day to day duties will include delegating work flow, reviewing VAT & bookkeeping work completed by junior staff, preparing and filing statutory accounts and training and mentoring junior members of staff. You will be a key point of contact with your portfolio and assist with any queries and conversions to cloud-based software to comply with MTD.

What you'll need to succeed
The firm are looking to appoint an ACA / ACCA qualified accountant who can demonstrate a strong background in general practice. As you are operating at a supervisory level you must possess either staff supervisory or portfolio management skills and be able to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. The workflow within the accounts team has increased following the introduction of MTD and therefore any knowledge of cloud-based software such as Xero or Quickbooks is preferable.
