This is UK government research organisation based in Oxfordshire, known for nuclear fusion energy but is broadening their research

Your new role
This is a job share post working with the current Head of Assurance for 3 days a week (days are negotiable), responsible for leading the Assurance Strategy. operating model and plan that enables continual improvement and development of a proactive culture across the organisation. You will offer visible leadership and governance in assurance matters, embedding risk management as an integral part of business planning. This role could step up to full time in the coming years.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be professionally Qualified with a Chartered Membership and from an industry that has given you a good understanding of Corporate Governance. You may have an energy, science, or defence background but exposure and responsibilities in legal, safety and regulations is vital. You will be able to give strong and clear leadership as there is a team of 40 you would manage, with line managers/direct reports included. You must also have experience in reporting to board level and have the ability to forge effective and close working relationships.
