Financial Controller - Thame - £45,000 - £50,000 - ACA/ACCA newly qualified accountant - 1st FC role

A newly created Financial Controller role has become available in a progression business based in Thame. The business is on a journey to growing the business substantially. After doubling the employee count over the last 2 years the business is ensuring they can support the increased volume of work by bringing a fantastic team together. Growing both through acquisitions and organically, its an exciting time to join and free up more opportunity to identify other areas to improve.

Your new role
As a Financial Controller you will lead a small finance team who are all driven to succeed. With a period of change there is an opportunity for the team to develop their skills and grow their knowledge and roles.

Your role as a controller is to co-ordinate the day to day accounting for the business. This will see you people management skills improve and develop and allow you to understand how the finance function works. You will also work with the business to improve systems and process to ensure your team are operating at full capacity.

You will take a lead at month end and have responsibility for this. You will pull together the management accounts after conducting balance sheet reconciliation, posting journals and creating the P&L. With this information you will create the management reporting pack and present this to the Group Financial Controller.

What you'll need to succeed
You will come from one of 2 route. You will either be an ACA newly qualified accountant who is looking to make their first move in to industry with the size of practice not being a factor. Or you will be a Qualified ACCA/CIMA Accountant who has built their career in industry and would be keen to make their move into a full management position.
