Audit Technical & Quality Improvement Manager- Public Accounting Practice
London (with significant global travel)

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client's high performing Professional Standards team, which provides technical support to their member firms around the world and manages the Global Quality Improvement Programme. The success of the team in recent years in supporting the member practice firms means that they are able to further expand their team to meet the firms’ expectations.

The Audit Technical and Quality Improvement Manager will have a wide-ranging remit providing opportunities to work on all aspects of technical and quality support, including delivering the Global Quality Improvement programme, comprising quality reviews of member firms, providing technical advice and support to member firms, developing ethics and independence procedures, contributing to the development of the global audit methodology, delivering training and developing thought leadership in Assurance. The role requires a substantial amount of travel.
 
Key responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Professional Standards, responsibilities of this role include:

• Delivering the Global Quality Improvement Programme: including evaluation of information returned by member firms, carrying out reviews across a sample of member firms and supporting member firms in developing and delivering action plans to address findings
• Review of new membership applications: liaising with Regional Directors, performing due diligence procedures and carrying out quality reviews as appropriate
• Liaising with member firms regarding queries regarding audit quality, audit and assurance technical matters and ethics and independence procedures
• Writing and publishing technical news stories and other content on our global intranet
• Contributing to the development of thought leadership in Assurance services
• Assisting in the development of our global audit methodology
• Assisting with research projects for the global network
• Developing and delivering technical training for member firms
• Management and review of  global independence procedures, including the resolution of independence issues.

 
Person specification
We are looking for an experienced, highly motivated professional accountant, preferably with experience of working in a technical environment and with experience of undertaking quality reviews.
The key attributes of the successful candidate include:
·       Relevant, recognised accountancy qualification.
·       Technically strong;
o   Knowledge of ISAs and other assurance standards
o   Strong auditing experience
o   Preferably with experience of undertaking quality reviews
·       Commercially aware
·       Ability to work in a team
·       Good report writing and communication skills
·       Strong presentation skills
·       Experience of working with international organisations.
