Hays Senior Finance are excited to exclusively partner with an established and reputable, independent accountancy firm in Dundee who are looking to strengthen their Public Sector and Internal Audit team by recruiting a motivated individual who is seeking a challenging career move with opportunities to develop their own technical and leadership skills within the firm. The role has arisen due to retirement and the client are now looking for someone equally experienced to hit the ground running on a full-time, permanent basis.


Your new role
The Public Sector and Internal Audit team manage a portfolio of internal and external audits for a wide range of prestigious public sector and commercial clients, based across Scotland. Responsibilities will include planning, performing and completing audit assignments, leading a team of trainees in a client facing role and working closely with the management team to complete work within set budgets and timescales. There will be a requirement to travel to and work from client sites across Scotland.


What you'll need to succeed
Candidates will ideally be fully qualified (CA, CIA or equivalent), and have a strong background working within public sector and/or internal audit. Experience of auditing European Grants is desirable. Part-qualified candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. Previous experience of delegating work to and coaching trainees would be advantageous. Good technical and client interfacing skills, strong IT and report writing skills, together with the ability to work to tight deadlines are essential requirements.
