For a project at our client's site in Bern, we are looking for a
System Engineer - Server Virtualization (7102)
Your Qualifications:
- Extensive experience of system administration as well as experience in server virtualization with VMWare and Hardware support
- Experience in scripting and automation using VMware Orchestrator and creation of hybrid cloud
- Strong knowledge in VMware includes snapshot management, automation, Vrealize Ops Manager, DRS and Domains
- Extensive experience in Data Center Operation
- Strong experience of experience with Cisco UCS, domain creation, UCS Director, automation, FI configuration, image management,
- Deep understanding with tape libraries, backup software as well as including Commvault
- Knowhow in provisioning storage on Netapp filers is a plus
- Fluent in English
Your Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in global Server Virtualization Team as well as within the global Data Center operations Team
- Assist in license management
- Manage capacity planning, report technical performance metrics, and implementation of operational standards and best practices to meet required service levels
- Develop and continuously refine documented technical strategies in order to provide a scalable and manageable environment for future growth
- Coordinate and contribute to the stability, availability, security, and performance of the organization’s storage, server virtualization and data center facilities working with other cross-platform Infrastructure teams, Security team, Architecture team, and Application teams
- General consulting such as project build work, general administration, 24x7 support, upgrade, patching, migration and/or transition planning, performance and tuning, project planning, standards validation/development, technical documentation, process automation, and problem analysis and resolution
