A leading software company with a long term series of Cloud deployment projects seeks a coder with a passion for cyber security that is looking to move into a formal DevOps role. Salary in the range of GBP60-GBP85k + great benefits package

Essential Skills (Must haves)

• Either Azure OR AWS experience, ideally working for a software company, and with a willingness to work on and learn both.
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
• Technical minded individual contributor, but ability to "lead the way".
• Strong background as a developer
• Worked in, or has an interest in cloud development in DevOps methodology.
• Infrastructure as code

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

In descending order of importance, but don't need all:

• Cloud infrastructure knowledge / experience.
  • Design
  • Deployment
  • Operation
• Networking experience, knowledge. DNS, HTTPS, TCP, etc.
• Security background / experience / mindset.
• Ability to lead / guide / help development teams do the right thing.
• Ability to communicate clearly.
• Experience with monitoring and alerting.
• Linux - we generally find that Linux techies have much higher focus on automation, command line, scripting etc.
• Web development experience (full stack, not UX).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure governance, e.g. Cross account or subscription management.
• Setting up and configuring security, logging or governance services.
• Powershell, C#, .NET.
• Experience using Docker and ideally Kubernetes.
• Experience as an architect.
• Operational experience, on-call support.
• Database experience - administration, development.
• Compliance framework experience, e.g. IS027001, SOC2 etc.
