For a short-term project at our client‘s site, an international bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced
Risk Control Specialist - Environmental & Social Risk (7139)
In this role, you will support the second line of defense in identifying and assessing Environmental & Social Risk (ESR) issues. The ESR team has responsibility for the development and implementation of principles and controls to manage ESR and associated reputational risks.
Your Qualifications:
- 3+ years’ experience in in a risk control or business function in the financial sector, consideration given for an ESR/ESG or sustainability background in the corporate sector
- Good understanding of ESR issues, or strong interest, knowledge of key international ESR standards and best practices as well as their relevance to the banking sector
- Business-focused with the ability to work independently and across a broad agenda, with a diverse network of internal clients and across various cultures
- Ability to deliver on targets also in an extended home-office setup
- Skilled communicator who adapts style to the audience and conveys clear, accurate, and concise information
- Critical thinker focused on details, with solid analytical and reporting skills
- Fluent in English
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of clients' divisional 2020 Environmental & Social Risk (ESR) action plans, including spot-checks on the effectiveness of existing ESR controls, an update of procedures and guidelines
- Update an ESR list of high-risk companies
- Support ad-hoc ESR portfolio reviews and research tasks
- Develop and implement the ESR framework and conduct ESR assessments across the firm
- Advise senior management in advancing banks' strategy on climate, environmental, and human rights principles that safeguard the banks' reputation for responsible corporate conduct
- Contribute to client’s external reporting and communications in these areas
