Gerrard White is currently seeking a Data Analytics Developer to work as part of a key production team with vast amounts of data within the insurance sector. Working with the latest data tools from Microsoft Azure, you will take the data we have and transform it into useable information for the business to use to make intelligent decisions.
Although this role is primarily a developer role, it would be desirable for the role holder to also have some data engineering knowledge and experience
The role will require a specialism as a Data Analyst / Developer with experience of Microsoft technology including SQL Server, Azure Data Products, Power BI and .Net and the right candidate will be excited by the prospect of designing and optimising the group's data architecture to support our next generation of products and data initiatives.
Key tasks will include:
Maintaining the group's Cloud Data platform, as part of a wider virtual data team.
Create and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Solving complex technology problems including the delivery of transformed data using warehousing and data analytics techniques.
The timely delivery of data analytics technical artefacts in line with deadlines and business objectives
Assembling large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Identifying, designing and implementing internal process improvements including automating manual processes, and optimizing data delivery
Building datasets that utilize the data pipeline to provide actionable insights into customer acquisition, operational efficiency and other key business performance metrics.
Suitable candidates will have:
Previous experience working as a Data Analyst / Developer in a corporate function
Strong experience with various Data Management architectures like Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Hub and the supporting processes like Data Integration, Governance, Metadata Management
Strong experience with advanced analytics tools for Object-oriented/object function scripting using languages such as Python, Java, C++, .Net, Scala, and others.
Experience in Data sourcing, profiling and modelling as well as ETL processes
Working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, Data Bricks and Synapse Analytics
Working Knowledge of Power BI and providing optimised data sets that can be fully utilised by the product.
Ability to gather accurate requirements
Strong commercial and strategic understanding.This role will be based remotely and will then continue part remotely and from either offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, Whitstable, Kent or Chesterfield, Derbyshire
