Team purpose
To extract insight from data and build predictive models with the goal of directly improving Covea's competitiveness and profitability.

What would you be responsible for in this role?
Develop and implement a Data Science strategy for Pricing
Deliver predictive models that gain a competitive advantage for Covea
Investigate opportunities to source internal and external datasets
Provide technical leadership and direction for a team of Data Scientists and Actuaries
Develop Data Science skills and mindset within the team
Create an innovative environment, identify value-add initiatives and drive through to implementation

Qualifications
At least a 2:1 bachelors degree with honours (or equivalent) in an appropriate data science or numerical subject, or, equivalent experience.

Experience and knowledge
Experience of technical leadership within a Data Science (or equivalent) team.
Hands on experience of developing predictive models
An understanding of statistical and mathematical techniques applicable to general insurance pricing, risk selection and analysis.

Make sure that everything you do fits in with the legal requirements, Cov??a Insurance policies, regulatory requirements and observes proper standards of market conduct.
Be aware of threats to our organisation and customers (e.g. financial crime, fraud and money laundering).
Taking the appropriate action to minimise the impact of risks to our business (e.g. by following processes and reporting any concerns to your manager).
Treating the personal data of our customers, employees and other individuals lawfully and in accordance with current Data Protection laws, and other related legislation.
If required, you will be open and cooperative with the FCA, PRA and other regulators.

Customer experience
Understand what role you play in the Customer Journey.
Make sure that your treatment of customers is in line with our principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
Provide a service to all of our customers (internal and external) that is memorable for the right reasons and builds our reputation as a great company to work for and do business with.
