Senior Internal Auditor

Croydon or Sittingbourne

What you'll do
Do you have extensive internal audit experience? Are you able to apply best practice internal audit techniques to a wide range of audit assignments and produce high quality, well written audit reports to a deadline?  If so, why not join Optivo’s in-house Internal Audit team as a Senior Internal Auditor.

What you’ll be doing
You will contribute to the delivery of the Internal Audit Plan by carrying out a full range of internal audit assignments and ad hoc projects, with minimal supervision.

This will include:

  • Planning and delivery of all internal audit assignments in accordance with the Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors’ Code of Ethics, the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing (IPPF) and with Optivo’s own Internal Audit procedures.
  • Producing professional well-written internal audit reports.
  • Championing risk management, internal control and corporate governance concepts throughout the business.

What you'll need
To be considered for this role you will need to be professionally qualified as an Internal Auditor (PIIA/CIA)

You’ll have extensive internal audit experience and it would be advantageous, although not essential, to have some experience in the Housing/Charity or Not-for- Profit sector and working as part of an in-house team.

You’ll have an extensive understanding and practical experience of managing the end to end audit process and delivering detailed systems and risk-based internal audit reviews.

You will have experience of producing detailed well-structured working papers and of writing professional, high quality internal audit reports.

Data analysis experience using Excel, IDEA or similar tools to interrogate data sets as part of your audits would be an advantage.

Closing date for applications: Sunday 28 February 2021 at 11pm.

What’s in it for you?
You’ll enjoy a great salary and benefits package, including 27 days (rising to 30 days) plus bank holidays, and a day off for your birthday. You can also buy and sell leave up to 5 days. We have generous pension and life assurance schemes too, plus a cycle to work scheme and travel loans. Add in a healthcare cash plan covering dental, glasses, physiotherapy, vaccinations, 24 hour GP and more, plus various high street discounts, (not to mention flexible working and in house career development opportunities). If you are passionate about what you do and share our ambitions, we look forward to hearing from you.

Inclusion and Diversity
At Optivo we work hard to create a diverse and inclusive culture and environment where people are respected for who they are. Encouraging inclusion is not just about protected characteristics, it’s about celebrating differences of thought, opinion, experience and perspective of each individual. We’re all different in our own way and we want our colleagues to feel comfortable, that they belong, and are safe to be themselves at work, without fear of being judged or excluded, but valued for their contribution to our One Team approach.

Company

At Optivo we know the importance of living in a safe and secure environment and how this enables people to flourish.

As one of the largest housing providers in the UK, our 44,000 homes give 90,000 people in London, the South East and the Midlands, somewhere affordable to call their own.

We work with residents, local authorities, and partners to meet housing need, and to create safe, sustainable communities for our residents.
