Head of Internal Audit

A Fortune 500 Mining company are searching for a Head of Internal Audit to join the team due to the previous Head moving into the business. The role will be London based but focuses on mining within Africa, so prior knowledge of the African Mining market would be useful. They are happy to look outside sector for exceptional individuals. The role will be fairly travel heavy with 25% of the time spent in Africa and another 25% of the time spent in European locations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To form relationships with key stakeholders throughout the businesses
• To work closely with external and internal partners in the planning and the delivery of internal audit reporting
• Continue on with the audit plan as well as manage the team
• Attend quarterly Audit Committee meetings 
• You will need to be able to commit to 50% international travel

The successful candidate will have:

• An accounting qualification such as a ACA/ACCA/CPA/CA is a necessity
• Big 4 experience is a necessity
• Previous Internal Audit experience within the mining space
• The ability to work autonomously and run projects to a high standard, whilst managing your time successfully
• Ability to work well under pressure, whilst producing results
• Ability to work well in part of a vibrant team and manage own workload
• Experience in report writing is essential
• Strong analytical skills are essential
