Internal Audit Manager (exclusive ex-pat role)
We have been approached by and are exclusively working with one of the World’s most famous travel, leisure and hospitality groups to help build their Internal Audit team. Our first assignment is to find an Internal Audit Manager, who will be based in Dubai, UAE. This is an 'ex-pat' role, so the package will include a basic salary, plus housing, an annual 'return home' flight and a bonus.
Through its subsidiaries, this conglomerate develops and operates resorts, ultra-luxury hotels, and residences. Having built a reputation for quality and luxury, the portfolio has expanded to consist of resort properties in Mexico, Mauritius, the Maldives, South Africa, Dubai, Australia and Morocco.
Reporting directly to the Head of Internal Audit, the primary part of this role is to identify business entity and process risks, use mitigating controls and evaluate internal controls through verification, then also recommend control improvements required to mitigate residual risks and assist continuous improvements in departmental processes. The annual audit programme consists of financial, operational, IT & legal audits and additionally, the internal audit team also conduct special ad hoc investigations, as requested and support the preparation of documents for presentation to the Audit Committee.
Travel is expected to be up to 50% to the destinations listed above. When you travel, you will stay in 5-star luxury and travel business class when appropriate.
The ideal candidate will likely be a Big 4 trained Audit/Assurance Manager or Senior Audit/Assurance Manager, with an accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CPA, etc.), including some experience in a native English-speaking country. Previous experience in the travel, leisure and hospitality or similarly dynamic industries is a benefit. Fluency in English is essential.
Communication and stakeholder management skills are key to the success of this position, as is maintaining and developing relationships with key stakeholders at VP/Director/Board level to help ensure the audit work carried out adequately addresses the key risks in the Group.
