German (and English) speaking Internal Auditor (flexible location)

One of Europe’s leading niche retailers is currently recruiting an Internal Auditor.

The successful candidate’s office will be in Nuremberg (Nürnberg), Germany, but given the flexible nature of this role, you can be based any other nearby cities, such as Frankfurt, Stuttgart, or Munich. Travel to other locations will be limited (post COVID) to around 15%.


  • To assist the Head of Internal Audit on protecting assets of the Group by completing financial, operational and systems-based audits, identifying inadequate, inefficient, or ineffective internal controls and recommending improvements.
  • Execution of audits across the group from planning to completion, the preparation of reports for submission to Board of Directors and Audit Committee and following up on proposed improvements and action plans.
  • To work very closely with the Heads of Finance and IT in individual operations to ensure appropriate identification of priorities, scheduling of work and addressing of issues arising.


Required Skills and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role will be a German (and fluent English) speaking Top 10 or Big 4 trained auditor or accountant, with excellent technical skills and a proven track record of engaging with and reporting to Senior stakeholders and executives. Experience in working with/in complex retail, logistics and manufacturing companies would be an advantage, but is not a requirement. Key necessary attributes also include excellent communication skills, attention to detail, integrity, professionalism and objectivity.
