Job Details

AWE offer a competitive salary, market leading contributory pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, excellent work/life balance including a 9-day working fortnight and flexible working hours (role dependent). A salary sacrifice scheme is also available.

We will consider candidates looking for full time or part time hours.

The Role:

AWE is a fast-changing organisation with a defined programme of work and an expanding relationship with government. As a senior auditor and key member of the Internal Audit team, you will be part of the evolving governance arrangements and you will work co-operatively with the business in driving process change and influencing the control landscape. Internal Audit has a respected status with key stakeholders. You will help the team build on that reputation through delivering diverse and value-add audits across finance, construction, operations and production.

You will be expected to think on their feet and take a rigorous, evidence-based approach to supporting our corporate governance and to making a difference to the business.

What will you do daily:

  • Define test plans against audit objectives and carry out detailed testing
  • Deliver quality audit reports which impact the business
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gain agreement to audit findings and actions
  • Coach and mentor other team members
  • Contribute ideas to the continual improvement philosophy of the department

What we are looking for:

You will have a background in Internal Audit with strong experience in evidence-based auditing, writing convincing reports and meeting delivery targets. A strong team player is needed, with current knowledge of corporate governance approaches.

You will be a strong communicator who is driven by their enthusiasm for audit and who can work collaboratively with business managers to achieve audit outcomes. You will be prepared to get into detailed testing, including data analysis to provide conclusions based on evidence and facts. You should have one of the following qualifications - CIA, CMIIA, ACCA, ACA or CIMA; but we shall also consider part-qualified for an auditor role

We are keen on personal development and transferring skills, so please feel free to apply, even if you feel that you only meet some of the above criteria. We are willing to be flexible for the right person, if you have a passion to make a difference and can do a lot of what we are looking for.

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
