Our client is an extremely complex organisation with operations across Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Africa.

They are leader within the shipping and logistics industry with businesses operating within an array of areas such as; energy transportation, car transportation, windmills, air freight, container shipping and real estate.

They have strong governance high on their agenda encompassing internal audit, risk management as well as ESG.

As an organisation they are hold audit in a service provision and partnering position, ensuring that audit is there to build working relationships with the business in order to uphold best practice

Description

To lead, promote and conduct Internal Audit Activities across the European and African region of the global business

To lead and manage the Internal Audit Team in the delivery of high-quality audits

To support regional and local managers on special projects

To foster a culture of continuous improvement within the audit function to provide a high quality service to the business

To attend annual IAC Meetings and develop and implement new Audit initiatives

To establish and develop Quarterly Internal Audit Follow-up Committee meetings

To carry out special projects such as Fraud and IT System Implementations

Profile

Qualified with post qualification experience (ACA, ACCA, ACMA, MIIA, CIA or equivalent)

Demonstrable management experience

Demonstrable Internal Audit knowledge, having worked in a senior leadership position

Appreciation of the complexity of Audits of Joint Venture Partnerships

Appreciation of matrix-ed business structures operating on an international scale

Ability to be pragmatic whilst also balancing diplomacy when influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders

Ability to write clear and concise Audit Reports and Presentations

Prior Board reporting exposure

Willingness to travel and undertake International Audit and Consulting Assignments amounting to approximately 35% of the time.

Experience within shipping/logistics is be useful but not essential
