Sitting within CDIO Finance as the Deputy Head of Finance Business Intelligence you will be ensuring finance and accounting activities are performed to the highest standard in order to provide accurate and timely management information to aid decision making and adherence to budgets and spending plans.

Job Description

The Team

Finance Business Intelligence Team undertakes CDIO Finance’s monthly finance activities and operates as a centre of excellence. We ensure all transactional accounting adheres to audit standards and play a key role in safeguarding the robustness of the management information that supports financial management and reporting to both internal and external customers.

The Role

The Deputy Head of the Finance Business Intelligence Team manages and nurtures a team underpinned/supported by analysts within CDIO.

Providing financial support, analysis and transactional finance services to the CDIO Finance Business Partners, the Financial Planning and Analysis Team and the wider CDIO business.

Reporting to the Head of Finance Business Intelligence the remit is to deliver high quality financial information, decision making support, and challenge.

This is a broad role requiring close working with a variety of senior partners.

Responsibilities

As the ideal candidate, you will have:

  • The ability to deliver reliable and accurate financial and performance information to support and advise decision making
  • The skills to lead, handle and develop a large team of people, including direct reports
  • Experience of Continuous Operational Improvement and delivery of process re-engineering

Essential Criteria

You will have:

  • Experience in a relevant financial role; able to demonstrate excellent understanding of key accounting processes and strong management / leadership skills gained in a results-oriented, changing environment with multifaceted and dynamic partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders, partners and colleagues, to influence and negotiate in a range of situations.
  • Strong and up-to-date financial and management accounting skills
  • A passion to lead and mentor staff to achieve and overall improve on their performance while delivering work results.
  • A track record of innovation and transforming finance processes to better meet customers’ needs.
  • Ability to deliver sophisticated, high-profile outputs with contributions from partners within fast paced timescales.

Professional Qualifications

  • Strongly desirable for the candidate to be a Qualified member of an Accountancy body or holder of an equivalent qualification.
