We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills and a questioning mind to join our risk reporting and analytics team. Our goal is to use data to drive effective decision-making across the bank. Because this is a small team currently, every member of the team has a key role to play and has the opportunity to learn about all areas of credit risk. We are seeking a good problem solver with a keen interest in analytics who wants to learn about credit risk by getting their hands dirty. A strong desire to learn and improve is more important than previous credit risk experience.

KEY RESULT AREAS or ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Produce accurate, timely monthly reporting including monitoring of risk appetite, portfolio trends and early warning indicators

* Present data and analysis in a way that enables the Executive and Board to make informed decisions

* Liaise and collaborate with the various teams to understand reporting requirements and to identify and fix data gaps and issues

* Conduct pro-active analysis of credit trends and behaviours across Hampshire Trust Bank

* Deliver bespoke analytics to aid the front line business in understanding their overall risk profile

* Support the bank wide Data Integrity program, improving the quality and consistency of data the bank uses in its reporting

* Ensure processes and procedures are properly documented and effectively controlled

* Continuously improve processes, procedures and tools

* Develop and maintain strong, collaborative and constructive relationships with the 1st Line businesses and functions to support the delivery of business objectives whilst maintaining effective controls

* Support the broader Risk and Compliance function where required.

Qualifications/Experience

* Strong academic background with a degree in a quantitative discipline

* Exceptional attention to detail, rigour and accuracy

* Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (especially Excel & PowerPoint)

* Excellent analytical abilities, including experience of programming

* Excellent written and presentational skills

* Experience using SAS is highly desirable

* Understanding or experience of credit risk also desirable
