A career at our company is an ongoing journey of discovery: our 57,000 people are shaping how the world lives, works and plays through next generation advancements in healthcare, life science and electronics. For more than 350 years and across the world we have passionately pursued our curiosity to find novel and vibrant ways of enhancing the lives of others.
Lead Architect Data & Analytics (all genders) Are you ready to drive the Data & Analytics (D&A) architecture of our entire organization? As the Lead Architect Data & Analytics, you are responsible for the development of the enterprise D&A architecture, i.e. D&A platform, data catalog, and data architecture. Within our newly established Data Office you report directly to the Global Head of Data & Analytics Architecture and work closely with the Lead Product Manager to align the roadmap of the D&A architecture with the need of customers and stakeholders across the organization. As part of the architecture team, you bring in your knowledge and hands-on experience in designing state-of-the-art data and analytics architectures within a cloud environment. You provide our multi-disciplinary business, data science and product teams with the foundation to build market leading data-based products that encompass computer vision, in silico modeling, complex health record data and other cutting-edge technologies. You design and, together with the delivery team, implement the architecture including all components and APIs necessary from the ground up to bring our services to end users. You use your creativity for finding innovative, cost-efficient and sustainable technologies and services while ensuring compliance to regulations (e.g. GxP), data privacy guidelines, security, scalability and uptime of our distributed, cloud-based environments. You evaluate emerging technologies, architectural patterns, and open source initiatives to advance our architectures and develop new products and services. Together with the Lead Product Manager you document and build consensus around critical architecture decisions and convey architecture direction to business partners, engineers, and leadership. Within the scope of the platform are all relevant components necessary to ingest and manipulate large data sets, subsequently analyse and model the data and finally consume the insights as products and services. All, while also delivering on governance principles and a great user experience across the platform. As the organization matures, products on the platform will also serve external customers extending the scope over time beyond the organization. You take over leadership of the platform architecture driving the technical foundation together with the DevOps team. As the team continues to grow, you will also take over functional leadership responsibility as we are building out our architecture capabilities. If you are curious and ambitious to take up this challenge, apply today and you will take the lead in driving and strategically developing our data architecture, creating a lasting impact on our customers and our organization and elevating data & analytics to the next level!

You have a higher-education degree (Master's. PhD, MBA) in computer science or a comparable technical field.
You have hands-on experience in designing and articulating enterprise data architectures especially in engineering solutions to contextualize requirements for cloud-based D&A solutions.
You have profound knowledge and multiple years of experience as a solution architect for Data & Analytics solutions in complex enterprise environments.
You have a proven track record of designing and implementing end-to-end business intelligence solutions. You have in-depth experience and potentially relevant certification with services of major cloud platforms (ideally AWS/Azure).
You possess proficiency and experience with infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation).
You are experienced with good API design practices, Linux containers and Kubernetes.
You are experienced with security fundamentals and keeping an infrastructure up and running as part of a team.
You are experienced with version control (git), automated testing, continuous integration and deployment (also including Continuous Deployment for Machine Learning / CD4ML).
You have experience in Big Data and Data Warehouses (e.g. Synapse, Redshift, Snowflake), Data Lakes (e.g. ADLS, S3, dremio, Delta Lake), Advanced Analytics Technology & Platforms (e.g. Spark, Hive, Databricks, Dataiku), Data governance (cataloging, lineage, MDM) and/or AI (e.g. ML, NLP, deep learning, vision).
Preferably, you have a prior work experience in a GxP regulated environment or other regulated industries (e.g. Finance/Banking)
Experienced in working in a global matrix environment, lateral leadership and positively influencing senior stakeholders
Excellent team player who takes accountability and thinks cross functional
