This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving and growing US manufacturing firm as their Trade Compliance Specialist or Senior Trade Compliance Specialist. You will be the go-to person for Trade Compliance matters for North America and helping to strengthen the programme across the region.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • – Participate in overall management of our client's imports /exports to ensure compliance with all applicable US and Canadian Customs laws and regulations
  • – Research and respond to all inquires from the US customs broker
  • – Monitor the broker and import shipments for exceptions for the US, Canada, and Mexico,
  • – Resolve all exceptions with US, and Canadian Customs clearance for the timely movement of the goods
  • – File the EEI’s for our client's exports utilizing ACE
  • – Determine Harmonized Tariff Number (HTS) for imports into US, Canada, and Mexico
  • – Upload all global customers into Denied Party Tool and review any potential matches against Global Denied parties lists
  • – For any customers in a high risk country screen against Dow Jones
  • – Perform post entry audit to ensure the our client's product is entered in compliance with all applicable rules and regulations for the US, and Canada.
  • – Prepare internal monthly Customs reports
  • – Audit the entries to the payment records to ensure the payments match the entered value
  • – Review and update the US and Canadian Customs brokers SOP
  • – Prepare the annual reconciliation declarations with US Customs for the 247 and assists; coordinate and obtain information from Engineering, Finance, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Transportation
  • – Supervise our client's drawback program
  • – Participate and support projects as necessary.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of US and Canadian Customs import and export laws and regulations
  • – Ability to coordinate and deliver project goals and objectives within a defined time period in a cross-functional environment.
  • – Ability to be proactive in recognising and adjusting to shifting priorities.
  • – Self-motivated and directed, capable of operating semi-autonomously.
  • – Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • – P.C. experience and skills, specifically EXCEL, WORD, and Outlook
  • – BA/BS with 2-8 years related import/export operational and compliance experience
